AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance while serving and an education award for future education or to repay past student loans. Many service positions also provide additional benefits such as health insurance, loan deferment, and childcare.

AmeriCorps NCCC
(National Civilian Community Corps)
- Between 18-26? Gain valuable professional experience while helping others. Your lodging and travel expenses are covered while you team up and travel as a full-time member supporting community service projects.
- Serve for 10-11 months with local and national nonprofits to complete hands-on projects.
- Get your hands dirty, discover something different, and reach new heights of personal and professional growth.
- You'll work on at least three different projects in different states and cities.
AmeriCorps VISTA
(Volunteers In Service to America)
- You'll address community challenges where the need is greatest. Serve in an office setting and help fight poverty while building your professional skills and earning additional benefits.
- You serve full time for one-year. You will support nonprofit organizations and public agencies to help them more effectively generate the commitment of private sector resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower individuals and communities.
AmeriCorps Seniors
Make giving back your second act
- AmeriCorps Seniors is open to individuals 55 and older.
- When you join AmeriCorps Seniors, you choose how you want to give back. Help a struggling child to learn to read. Deliver groceries to an elderly neighbor. Support a family impacted by natural disaster.
