One Book 4 Colorado reveals 2016 selection

Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock announced Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae is the official 2016 One Book 4 Colorado selection, officially launching the 2016 One Book 4 Colorado program at the Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales Branch of the Denver Public Library.

 

One Book 4 Colorado gives away 75,000 copies of the same book to every 4-year-old in the state in English or Spanish. Books are distributed at public and military libraries across the state and participating Denver Preschool Programs.

 

Events will take place across the state at public and military libraries, Denver Preschool Program preschools and other venues until the program ends April 25, 2016. Visit www.onebook4colorado.org for information about events, reading tips, information on early literacy and more.

 

One Book 4 Colorado is a collaboration of the Colorado State Library, the Denver Preschool Program, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, the Colorado Department of Education, Serve Colorado, public and military libraries, community organizations, and the private sector.
